Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 9:08AM Ladies, if your child's father is incarcerated. Do everything you can to foster a relationship between the two parties. A father incarcerated is still a father and needs to remain involved in his child's life.

Keep the father involved by:
- Schedule calls around homework time. Let daddy answer some of their questions. Also, allow calls only between father and child.
- Send him progress reports and awards.
- Allow him to participate in their discipline.
- Let your kids to take part in the letter writing. Your kids should receive letters addressed to them, not through you.
We have all been touched by some type of devastation in our lives. The trick is to find a way to overcome those things and not let those things define us.
